Presented by Tim Barker of Edge Alley and Ryan Adams of Shift Gallery, Edge of Space documents humanity’s exploration of the moon’s surface, the first moon landing, and the first color photograph of the martian surface from 1976.

The photos come from the estates of Dr. Ernst Stuhlinger, a former Director of the Marshall Space Flight Center, and other former NASA employees.

“The curated selection of photographs include the first detailed images of the lunar surface, humanity’s first steps on the moon, and the first color photograph of another planet’s surface from Viking I’s 1976 mission to Mars,” said show organizer Ryan Adams.

“The selection of photographs range from when the first man stepped on the moon to the first detailed photographs of the moon, and the first color photographs of Mars. These images are the result of humanity's most daring endeavor.”
