MMDC’s events invite people to come together and explore all the exciting things that the District has to offer. The Medical District is home to some of Memphis’ most fascinating neighborhoods and public spaces. Our events and events grants showcase what the District has to offer.

A partnership between the Memphis Medical District Collaborative and Downtown Memphis Commission, Freewheel is a free, fun, social opportunity to better understand a neighborhood’s history and assets by bike. “Slow rides” are group bicycle rides with a focus on community and neighborhoods. Freewheel is for everyone; all ages, all skill levels and every type of bike is welcome.
This is a community event for people to bring their dogs to the off-leach dog area at the corner of Madison Ave & N. Orleans. In 2017, we had 40 participants, 25 furry friends, 4 local businesses, 3.1k Facebook engagements, 100 doggie treats consumed and 115 puppy photos.
